Kristine Retuta
Transitional K
Kindergarten Teacher
Hi! My name is Kristine Retuta and I am so excited to be working with your child here at Carlsbad Country Day School.
I was born in the Philippines, but I spent most of my life living in Arizona. I attended Arizona State University, where I received a bachelor’s degree in Family and Human Development and Sociology. I went on to obtain an Arizona multiple subjects teaching credential with Structured English Immersion endorsement and a master’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Ottawa University. Upon relocating to sunny San Diego, I also received my California multiple subjects teaching credential and I am currently working on an ESL endorsement.
Over the years, I have worked with young children in many different capacities. I have served as both a preschool center director and lead preschool teacher. I have also taught Kindergarten, which has been my greatest passion.
I am so happy to call San Diego my new home, because I love sunshine and I love the beach! My hobbies include eating, traveling, and taking mini-weekend getaways as often as I can. I am super excited to be working with your child and look forward to getting to know you and your family!
Love,
Ms. Kristine
